„Adams und Evas“ by Clara Brörmann
Die abstrakten Bilder von Clara Brörmann haben eine vielschichtige Materialität. Farbe hat einen Körper und wird eingesetzt als pastose Ölfarbe aus der Tube, als Strukturmasse oder dünne Lasur. Der Bildaufbau ist prozessorientiert, Farbflächen werden aufgetragen, übermalt und bis auf die Leinwand wieder aus dem Bild herausgerissen. Dieser offene, schrittweise Vorgang wird selbst zu einem Merkmal ihrer Malerei und bleibt für den Betrachter im Bild erfahrbar.
Für das 104. Fenster hat die Künstlerin die Wände mit dem vergrößerten Kupferstich der Sündenfall von Dürer plakatiert. Auf dem sich vielfach wiederholenden Motiv präsentiert sie Malerei aus ihrer Serie einszwei. In dieser Installation von Berlin weekly geht es um Sie und Ihn, um die ewige Wiederkehr des Paares, um Adam und Eva.
The abstract pictures by Clara Brörmann have a multi-layered materiality. Color has a body and is used as a pasty oil color from the tube, as a structural mass or thin glaze. The image composition is process-oriented, color fields are applied, painted over and ripped out from the picture down to the canvas. This open, step-by-step process itself becomes a feature of her painting and remains perceptible to the viewer.
For the 104th window, the artist has put posters onto the walls with the enlarged copperplate engraving of Albrecht Dürer’s „Fall of Man“ (1504). On the repetitious motif, she presents paintings from her series einszwei (onetwo). This installation in the Berlin weekly window is about HIM and HER – about the eternal return of the couple Adam and Eve.
