The site-specific installation “AUFSTEIGEN 8. (Ascending 8)” by Katrin Wegemann consists of round, helium-filled balloons made of reflective foil that gently rise and fall—like notes in a musical score. The balloons are guided by fine threads connected to motors, whose soft, rhythmic humming underscores the tempo of this visual composition.
Standing in front of the display window, viewers see both themselves and the surrounding street reflected in the floating balloons. In this way, the exterior space is drawn into the interior, following the concept of the Berlin-Weekly window gallery.
