The errant allegory of symbols.
\nDie Installation al.le.go.ry besteht aus einem kleinen Leuchtkasten mit einem Fragezeichen, der den Raum von hinten beleuchtet. Dazu ist ein monumentaler mit einem abstrakten Muster bedruckter Vorhang im Raum perspektivisch installiert. Beide \u201eZeichen\u201c theoretisieren das Thema \u201eAbstraktionsrepr\u00e4sentation\u201c. Das Berlin \u2013Weekly Fenster funktioniert f\u00fcr diese Allegory als Bildraum. Die Installation zentriert die Wahrnehmung auf eine zeitgen\u00f6ssische Allegorie. Es ist eine Exkursion in die Problematik und das Vokabular der Kunst – ein Versuch die Grundkonzepte bildlich (Fenster) in der Realit\u00e4t darzustellen.
\nIn ihrer multimedialen Konzeptkunst interessiert sich Virginie Mosse f\u00fcr den Mechanismus der visuellen Wahrnehmung und die Funktion der Symbolik. Durch die Vermischung von etablierten Genren und dem h\u00e4ufigen Wechsel zwischen Bild und Sprache zeigt sie die komplexe Beziehung zwischen Realit\u00e4t und Fiktion. Anhand der Auseinandersetzung mit der Macht von Ikonografien und Ideologien und der Aufarbeitung von Mythen forscht die K\u00fcnstlerin nach den Zusammenh\u00e4ngen von Geschichte und Kultur.\u2028(Stefanie Seidl, Berlin Weekly)

\nThe symbol’s errant allegory. A story of definitions in visible form.
\nThe installation Al.le.go.ry consists of a small light box with a question mark, illuminating the space from behind, and a monumental curtain printed with an abstract pattern, installed in the room (in perspective). Both „signs“ theorize the theme of „abstract representation“, according to the concept of the Berlin-Weekly gallery window which is used as a pictorial space.
\nThe installation centers the perception on a contemporary allegory. It’s an excursion into the problems and the vocabulary of art, a theory of the visual or a ABC depicting those basic concepts figuratively (window) in the reality.
\nIn her multi-media concept art, Virginie Moss\u00e9 is interested in the mechanism of visual perception and the function of symbolism.\u2028By mixing established genres and frequently switching between image and language, she shows the complex relationship between reality and fiction.\u2028Basing herself on the discussion of the power of iconography and ideology and the work-up of myths, the artist practices a constant research on the links between history and culture.
