Nach einem Berlinbesuch w\u00e4hrend dem die Studenten mehrere Kunst – Projektr\u00e4ume besucht und einen Vortrag von Severine Marguin \u00fcber die Entwicklung der Projektr\u00e4ume in Berlin geh\u00f6rt haben, werfen sie einen kritischen Blick auf die Entwicklung von Kunst-Projektr\u00e4umen, in den von Gentrifizierung betroffenen Stadtteilen.<\/p>\n Der Projektraum \u2018Berlin-Weekly\u2019 kann sich bisher noch in Berlin\/Mitte halten, wo viele nicht kommerzielle Projektr\u00e4ume in den letzten 2 Jahrzehnten wegen extrem steigender Mieten schlie\u00dfen mussten. Aber was passiert mit dem Raum, wenn auch dieser Projektraum aus finanziellen Druck schliessen muss? Der Galerieraum w\u00fcrde sicher kommerziell genutzt werden. Zum Beispiel als Gesch\u00e4ft , das Souvenirs verkauft, die das abbilden, was diesen Stadtteil einmal interessant gemacht hat.<\/p>\n A group of space design students from the University of Art and Design in Geneva questioned themselves about the role of a space designer in an art space. After a trip to Berlin where they took a closer look at some non commercial art spaces and attended a lecture by Severine Marguin about art project spaces in Berlin, they focused on the question: where is the line between art space and commercial space.<\/p>\n This intervention takes a critical look at the commercial wave that has overcome the Berlin\/Mitte area, inducing the disappearance of many non-profit art spaces. So far the project space Berlin-Weekly could stand strong against the commercial development. But what if one day Berlin-Weekly gives in to commercial pressure? Most likely the gallery space would become a commercial shop.
