Berlin based artist Silke Koch was born in Leipzig and studied photography in Leipzig at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst at Prof. Joachim Brohm. She was master student of Prof. Astrid Klein.

‘For me the cosmos is a symbolic space: since centuries people are dreaming to conquer the universe, to discover other worlds outside and even to colonialize it. But most of us can see the universe only from the earth. What remains is the phantasy in daily life: salt shakers, egg cups, strange vessels ….a diversity of bizarr objects in order to fancy other worlds. I created a series of rocket shaped sculptures made from everyday objects from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s , produced in in East- and West Germany, the former GRD and the BRD, at the times of the cold war. First of all it brings memories of those times when plastic, abstract surface design, lightness and flexibility seemed to represent a bright future.’ Silke Koch

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

‚Private Outer Space‘ von Silke Koch Fotografien und Skulpturen aus Alltagsobjekten (Glas, Porzellan, Plastik, Metall, Klebstoff) Photographs and sculptures made from everyday objects (glass, porcelain, plastic, metals, glue) Die in Leipzig geborene und in Berlin lebende Künstlerin Silke Koch hat in Leipzig an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst bei Prof. Joachim Brohm Fotografie …

„Window 57“ weiterlesen

[3

post-1500","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-weekly-window
["GET
